At Camp Harbor Quest, your child will enjoy laughing with new friends under a canopy of trees, racing through a ropes course, paddling a kayak along the waterfront, and splashing into the pool on a hot summer afternoon. That's the magic of Camp Harbor Quest, Salem's beloved traditional outdoor day camp, nestled right in the heart of Forest River Park.
With access to the park's playground, waterfront, pool, and sprawling sports fields, Harbor Quest gives kids the real-deal outdoor summer experience full of fresh air, big adventures, and the kind of memories that only happen at camp.
Who's the Camp For?
PRIVATEERS - Ages 5–6 (Rising Kindergarteners)
Your little one's first big adventure! Privateers ease young campers into camp life with a caring, structured routine while nurturing their independence and social-emotional skills. They'll try archery, explore low ropes, play on the beach, make art, swim, and build the confidence they'll carry right into Kindergarten.
BUCCANEERS - Ages 7–10
Hold on tight, Buccaneers are ready to GO! This energetic program keeps kids moving with archery, kayaking, ocean swimming, low ropes, arts & crafts, team sports, group games, and a weekly free swim trip to Forest River Pool. It's everything a kid could want in a summer.
CRUSADERS - Ages 11–13 (Leader-in-Training)
Older campers step up, take charge, and make a real difference as Leaders-in-Training. Crusaders develop responsibility, mentorship skills, and leadership all while still having an absolute blast at camp.

Does your child light up when they're building, performing, painting, or filming? The Salem Y Specialty Camps are one-of-a-kind, one-week intensive programs designed to fuel real passions and develop real skills, in a fun, supportive environment where every kid belongs.
Running June 29 through August 14, 2026 (Theatre Camp running through 8/21), these camps offer something extraordinary for every kind of creative, curious, and inspired young person.

🌱 Tinkergarten (Ages 5–6): Hands-on STEAM meets Kindergarten readiness! Young learners explore science, technology, engineering, arts, and math through exciting age-appropriate projects that build curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.
🧱 LEGO Engineering (Ages 7–10): Calling all builders and future engineers! Campers dive into architecture, design, and innovation, one brick at a time. Imagination + engineering = something amazing.
🎨 VIBE Creative Arts (Ages 7–10): A different art form every week! From painting and sculpting to mixed media and design, VIBE gives kids the freedom to express themselves and discover what makes their creativity unique.
🏺 Pottery Intensive (Ages 8–13): Get your hands dirty in the best possible way! Guided by experienced ceramic instructors, campers craft their own mugs, sculptures, and artistic creations all kiln-fired and theirs to keep.
🎵 Music & Media Intensive (Ages 8–13): Sound, story, and screen! Campers explore music-making, songwriting, recording, video production, and digital editing in a hands-on creative studio environment.
🎭 Theater Intensive (Ages 7–16): Lights, camera, action! With rotating weekly themes and dynamic instructors, Theater Intensive gives aspiring actors, directors, and designers a fully immersive performance experience every single week.
